Microsoft Global Cloud in Germany – August Update

The Microsoft Cloud Germany as part of the global Microsoft Cloud is taking shape more and more. The start of H2 2019, announced a year ago, should therefore be a time to post a new update and bring you up to date:

Basic information

  • Data centers: Frankfurt and Berlin (245km distance) (MCD was/is: Frankfurt and Magdeburg)
  • Storage of customer data only possible in Germany
  • Geographical redundancy also possible from e.g. Azure Storage Services
  • Azure Backup / as well as Backup and Recorvery in Germany possible
  • Security and compliance standards similar to the MCD (e.g. C5 of the BSI and IT-Grundschutz)
